“I pursued the techniques of the old French masters: Marcel Moyse, Paul Taffanel, and Philippe Gaubert, and as a result, my tone became richer and more colorful.”
FLUTIST – Classical to Jazz Improvisation
I come from a musical family and began studying the flute at ten, quickly developing into an exceptional player. In my home state of Ohio, I won several competitions and secured opportunities to perform throughout the state through blind auditions. Even while I was still in high school, I had the honor of being a featured soloist with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra twice.
During my summers, I participated in music programs at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. I later attended Duquesne University, where I earned a degree in flute performance. My teachers included Bernard Goldberg, and I had the opportunity to take part in masterclasses with renowned virtuosos such as Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway.
One of the many highlights of my early flute career was being a featured flutist in a science segment about "echoes" on Sesame Street.
Today, I enjoy playing Native American flutes and collaborating with choral groups, merging my passion for flute playing with choral music.
